Drilling and Blasting
Wasa Dredging is a highly specialized, market leading company in the field of drilling and blasting underwater bedrock. We are blasting up to 1 million m3 of bedrock on a yearly basis. Wasa Dredging is operating two combined dredging/drilling units: “Hector” and “Boulder”. Both of these units are capable of single-handedly executing projects involving both drilling, blasting of bedrock as well as dredging of the blasted material. In 2019 these two units will be accompanied by “Harald”, a new, third combi-unit.
Our equipment for drilling and blasting has been developed in-house and is based on our extensive experience in the field. The computerized pumping system for charging the drilled holes, advanced progress tracking system, experienced staff and in-house designed drilling towers ensure a high-quality and quantity operation.
We believe our drilling and blasting operation to be the best available on the market today.
Excavating
Wasa Dredging Backhoe Dredgers are highly specialized for dredging both soft and harder soils. The backhoe dredger is the preferred tool to dredge in protected water, especially in hard soils and for dredging blasted rock. Large units such as big boulders can be handled. The backhoe dredger has the capability of working in shallow waters or even dredge its own water depth if needed. Limited manoeuvring space near quay walls, breakwaters and such is not a problem for this versatile piece of equipment.
The Wasa Backhoe Dredger (BHD) can quickly be optimized for the task at hand. WD dredgers have a wide range of equipment available such as boom and stick configurations and different bucket sizes and types. For example the dredging depth of “Optimus” can be everything in between 3 and 29 meters. The buckets can be changed ranging from light-weight loose soil 22 m3 buckets to hard material 9 m3 buckets to environmental buckets.
The pontoon itself has been formed by the experience Wasa Dredging has gained throughout its existence. An example of this is the spud system which is optimized to be one of the fastest systems in the world for moving the backhoe dredger
Environmental Dredging
We have taken very special care of the environmental issues in our field of work. We believe that continuous development of environmentally friendly tools and methods serves us all. We have performed environmental dredging by usage of an environmental bucket at several projects and have experience in usage of sound level measurements, turbidity meters, vibration meters, silt curtain protection, fish and mammalcontrol. By providing an efficient mix of environmental measurements and controls we are able to guarantee quality and environmentally sustainable solutions at competitive price levels that satisfy our customers. Wasa Dredging is certified for ISO 14001.

Our staff consists of experienced professionals. Our equipment represents the state-of-the-art know-how of the field. All our equipment is developed and built within the group. Our equipment is systematically renewed and continuously maintained. Our main equipment units are all newly built, the oldest taken into service in 2010.
